Victoria Chuk believes every great story begins with a little imagination and a lot of heart. Living near Disney World in sunny Florida, she's surrounded by inspiration every day, from theme park fireworks to quiet afternoons in her own backyard.

When she's not writing, she enjoys relaxing with her chubby, fluffy black cat, who supervises most first drafts from the arm of the couch. But it's her sweet cocker spaniel who truly started it all. His wagging tail and endless enthusiasm for absolutely everything inspired Spunky: A Kindergarten Adventure, a reminder that kindness, love, and a little bit of spunk can make even the most ordinary day feel magical.

Spunky: A Kindergarten Adventure is Victoria's very first published book, a dream she's been wagging her own tail about for a long time, and one she can't wait to finally share with young readers everywhere.

Where Spunky came from

A real dog, a real tail wag, a real story.

Spunky's kindness, curiosity, and slightly mischievous nose are all borrowed from the dog who inspired him, plus a little bit of imagination for the kindergarten part.

From an idea to a first book.

A dog with a lot of personality

Victoria's cocker spaniel greeted every single day like it was the best one yet, and the idea for Spunky was born.

A story worth telling

What started as a way to capture her dog's spirit became a heartfelt story about first days, new friends, and finding where you belong.

Bringing Room 411 to life

Working with an illustrator, Victoria watched Spunky, Miss May, and his classmates come to life on the page, backpack and all.

A dream, published

Spunky: A Kindergarten Adventure is now on its way to bookshelves, Victoria's very first book, and hopefully the first of many.
